Hi there. My name is Cary and this is my first foray into blogging. I’m a 46 year old male and I am starting a new chapter in my life at the end of this week presuming things go as planned (they rarely do for me). I am leaving the comfort of the town I have called home for the last 18 years and the state of Michigan in which I have lived 40 of my 46 years of life. Most importantly, I am leaving the comfort of nearby friends and family. I am moving to a remote area of Arizona where at best I have a series of acquaintances at this moment in time. We have purchased a beautiful plot of land on which I plan to build a home and grow most of our food in time. I will be embarking on this trip with just my cat and dog to start. My wife will follow in a few months. Luckily, I will be able to keep my job at a large corporation working as a remote worker.
It is my intent to share both my experiences going forward as well as some history as to how I have gotten to where I am in terms of why I would make such radical changes in lifestyle this late in my life. I will be maintaining this blog to both keep a record for myself and my wife as well as a forum to keep family, friends, and colleagues up to speed with my progress (for those who are interested enough to read my babbling). Anyone in the public domain who may find this site of interest is welcome as well.
Speaking of babbling, I am falling asleep trying to write this and I still have to add an image and submit the post.
I will leave you this evening with a picture of Sasha, our great pyrenees, waiting for her first truck ride this past Saturday June 10 in preparation for our cross country trip.
